MY FOUR NOVELS

My first two novels are psychological suspense.

THE LIE OF YOU

One woman’s fear is another woman’s weapon.

Kathy seems to be the picture of a happy, fulfilled woman with a baby boy, a clever husband and a glamorous, high-powered job. But not everybody is fooled.

Her colleague, Heja, knows the truth: the cracks in Kathy's marriage, her anxieties about motherhood, and her fear of failure at work. Heja is perfectly placed to destroy Kathy's life. And if she succeeds, she can claim the one thing she wants most.

The Lie of You was recently made into the movie, A Working Mom's Nightmare, available on Lifetime TV and Sky TV and starring Tuppence Middleton as Heja and Lydia Wilson as Kathy.

AFTER THE STORM

Some secrets destroy you.

Rob and Anna have just met American couple, Owen and Kim, in Belize in Central America.

Now they’ve boarded their handsome old sailing boat to travel to Roatan, a far-off island in the Caribbean.

With only the four of them on board, it should be paradise: lazy afternoons spent snorkelling; long nights enjoying the silence and solitude of the sea. But ten days is a long time to spend with strangers. Especially when one of them carries a dark secret. Described by a critic as Marine Noir.

I then changed genres and wrote two contemporary literary fiction tales about Liz Lyon. She is a respected but stressed TV producer and a guilty single Mum. She works in a TV station that broadcasts a daily live show.

WOMAN OF THE HOUR

In the world of TV, the real drama happens behind the scenes.

Many novels focus on the drama of women's home and emotional lives, but there is much less fiction about a woman struggling with the demands of work.

StoryWorld is a fictional TV station, a cauldron where monster egos and power struggles produce high-octane drama. The novel is told from the point of view of Liz Lyon, a respected TV producer who feels she is failing her daughter by spending too much time at work. Simmering tensions erupt at the TV station trapping Liz in a game of one-upmanship. Can she hang onto her integrity and her job and be there for her daughter?

BEHIND HER BACK

Lies, betrayal, scandal. It’s just another day for the women who are running the show.

Liz Lyon is a television producer at StoryWorld, the UK’s favourite morning show. Her job is stressful, but she is determined to show her teenage daughter that women can succeed.

Then a new female colleague joins the station, Lori Kerwell. In the predatory climate of the workplace, Liz and Lori should help each other. But when Lori starts secretly building her power base with the bosses, Liz is desperate to know what is going on behind her back.
